I think Ron Miller was very proud of those covers, and pleased to get the chance to do something outside of his usual range. (Plus, there's always the chance that some visitor to your office will see them and ask, "What's this...?")

As I was enjoying home made Sweet Potato Pie with real whipped cream I was reminded of Tej's enjoyment of real dairy cream, in spite of her distrust of animal products not vat produced. If only I had sweetened it with Maple I would have had a real Vorkosigian treat. (Well, since I can't get bug butter.) Are you especially fond of real maple sugar products and real cream or are those literary devices?

When you are busy writing do you notice a decline in your interest in reading? Or maybe in reading works similar to what you are writing? Perhaps this pertains more to fiction than non-fiction, but I've experienced seasons when a world is actively gestating inside my head and similar stories lose their appeal. Curious to know if others experience something similar. Thank you!
