I've been a fan of the books for 20 years now, and since they started the show I've been watching religiously. However, both are completely different. You just can't expect plots to follow along with each other; more of loosely-based ideas. As mentioned by another commenter, she is writing a follow up series along with her daughter that closely resemble the TV series. Those books portray the niece of original When Calls The Heart character Elizabeth.(less)
