Just finished YOU. Loved it! Joe, what a character! Who do you picture playing him if it were to be made into a movie? Thanks!
Caroline Kepnes
Yay! He is something, right? This changes all the time. You know Michael Zegen? I did an interview recently where I talked about seeing him in Girls on HBO and thinking, how do I know that guy? Then I realized I don't know that guy. I just think he is Joe. I love it when I'm watching someone and I notice that dark sparkle, a moment of Joe-ness. It will be exciting to see how it all unfolds when it gets adapted, who brings the most Joe-ness. I worked on the first season of Secret Life of the American Teenager. Casting is the ultimate two-way street where you see an actor, you think, yes. Then you start shooting, you watch that actor, and the next time you're writing, you're so aware of what that actor brings to the part. Now, Kim who do YOU see behind the counter at ye olde safe & sound bookshop? :)

I'm in the middle of your book "You". I keep cheering Joe on. I absolutely love him! He reminds me of Dexter. In the beginning I thought he was creepy and scary. He totally changed my mind. How did you come up with his character? Did anything in particular influence you? Do you think you will write a third book for 'You' series?

Caroline Kepnes:
I just finished reading "Hidden Bodies", I read it all in 4 days! I only read "YOU" a few weeks ago, and I have to say, I am now officially obsessed. I'm not usually a fan of serial killer books, but this one is different, funny, quirky and so addictive! Now for the big question, will there be another sequel to Joe's fascinating story?
