Goodreads asked Lindsey Elyse:

How do you get inspired to write?

Lindsey Elyse I've always had an imagination, but writing? That was a silly idea. Why would I ever write anything other than a paper for class? Then one day, a friend of mine asked if I would help her with her club on campus, smart me said yes. She decided to have a character creation contest and my words were "evil," "light," and "squirrel." Try to match those up. Eventually a character came to mind and knowing that there'd be bonus points for a background story, I scribbled something down. After the contest, I got second by the way, my character kept dancing around in the dark depths of my mind, so I opened up Word and went to work. Wrote whenever I was stressed, needed to vent, or whenever I was happy. I discovered that writing was fun. Years went by and after so many silly stories that have filled up a Folder on my laptop, I put one on top of the stack and gave it my all. "Ghost" was born. One story became two, two became two and a half, then a novella crept in. Believe me, I almost didn't publish. If it wasn't for my boyfriend encouraging me, "Ghost" would still be sitting in that folder gathering digital dust.
