How long did it take you to write this and how difficult was it for you to move forward from it?

Hi Sara
I started writing in July of 2013. The book was officially published in dec 2014. So almost a year and a half.
It was quite difficult to write and for six months or so after I suffered a great deal from PTSD accompanied by severe flash backs. It is ebbing though for which I am grateful.
I have a lot of people emailing me about their abusive child hoods and how they wish to move on from it. I sincerely hope I am helping, so sad there are so many child abuse and sexual assault survivors.

I recently read your memoir and in the coming week will be facilitating several group discussions among fellow CASA volunteers that also read your story. CASA volunteers represent (in court) the best interests of, and serve as the voice of children who have been removed from their family homes due to abuse and neglect. From an author standpoint, what would you most want our group to discuss when we meet?
