Halloween Reads

My 11-year-old daughter wants to read this. I don't mind her reading many young adult books, including ones with romance, but I'm not keen on her reading ones where the love scenes are quite explicit (as far as Young Adult goes). She's read The Hunger Games, the Matched series, and If I Stay with my approval, just to give an idea of what I'm okay with. Any thoughts about this one?

Some parts of the book are kind of hard for a kid (Thousands of people dying in shipwrecks, etc.) so it could be a good idea to read it first to make sure you're comfortable with her reading it. It's long-ish, but fast-paced so you can read it quickly.(less)
