What would your advice do you have for amateur writers?

Miranda Kenneally Hi Caitlin - My #1 piece of advice for writers is to read, read, read. Read everything you can get your hands on in your genre and decide what you like and what you don't like. That'll help you as you're crafting your stories. Also, don't be afraid to take risks. Don't try to write to trends. Just write the book you want to write. If you think your story is something you'd like to read, there's a good chance someone else will want to read it.
