Goodreads asked Sarah Neeve:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Sarah Neeve Read. A lot! Then, just write. Simple as that, really.

Reading helps you to see the way a story flows, how it makes you feel. And don't just read books in the genre you're thinking of choosing. Read romance, horror, fantasy. Read everything! Then you'll have a good idea when you eventually sit down to start your masterpiece.

Hold tight before you write!

Outline first, or use a mind map (you've all heard of a mind map. Haven't you?). This will help you to organise and see how the plot will work. Of course, don't feel obliged to stick to this like glue, you'll have ideas suddenly pop into your head that are shouting at you to head in a different direction, don't be afraid to go with that gut-feeling! Yes, you're character will have there own voice, so don't worry if you think you're going crazy, you're not. Welcome to the wonderful, but totally crazy world of being a writer!
