Agha asked:

Can anyone share a technique to read this book without getting overwhelmed by the characters being introduced (i can't seem to follow if the characters are new or the same sometimes). And also the form and structure of the book: sometimes i feel very interested in continuing because of humor and then let down by character introductions and background (which i have mostly forgotten as i have moved along)?

Joel My advice is take it as a stream and don’t overthink it. I supplemented the paper book with the audiobook and when I felt stuck I listened to the audiobook. IMO you don’t need to catch every little detail
Julia I watched the mini-series on Hulu first and it helped immensely. They managed to pick out the best scenes and dialogue and keep the tone intact. I'm terrible with names myself, but it is helpful to know their personalities or to have a face from the show to put with all the names when they comes up. Of course there is way way way more excellent content in the book than they could ever fit into the series, so it's a very good adaptation without diminishing the original.
Noah I second Joel about taking it as a stream. I would sketch diagram the characters to keep them straight. Don't skim or speed read it. take your time. there's alot of unique stylistic stuff in the book that makes it interesting likeuse of free association
