Kasie West Hi Chrysten! Thanks for reading my books and loving them. That makes me happy. How did I get the inspiration for By Your Side? Well the first half of the book takes place in a library and I got the inspiration for that from the library itself. Every year for the past 3 years some friends and I have done a signing in the Provo, UT library. It's a gorgeous library. Big and old and wood paneled and a tiny bit creepy. I love it so much. So last time we were there, I was talking to my friend and said, what if a guy and girl got locked in here over a weekend. Wouldn't that be the cutest love story. And just like that, I knew I had to write it. As for dark contemporary, I don't write much dark contemporary, so I really don't have a lot of advice there. My stuff is pretty light and fun. But just write what you love and write from your heart and you'll be fine. Good luck!
