Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Azadeh Tabazadeh I have read almost all memoirs written about Iran before, during and after the 1979 Iranian revolution. However, none offers an eyewitness account of the events that inspired the revolution in Iran as they are mostly written by Iranian-American journalists. I wanted to write this book so that others may experience how it was like to live and escape Iran in the early 1980s. I also wanted to tell the story of the people whom I left behind--people who were not as fortunate as I was to leave Iran and build a new life in America.
