Every story starts with an A4 notebook that I fill with ideas, sketches, research and photos. Sometimes I fill more than one until I proceed to a manuscript notebook. I write my 1. Draft by hand so often research moves to chapters within one book. I then transfer the handwritten into the computer and often print that 2nd draft to fill another notebook and to work by hand on the text ( I keep the left page empty for that) some books fill more than 30 notebooks and a whole treasure chest:) I usually rewrite at least five and often 15 times.
