Did it seem to you that Debbie rushed the book at the end?

Lindsey Yes, I thought it felt very rushed. I'd have liked more development, seeing the sisters grow fond of one another again.
Jack Vasen I wouldn't have said "rushed".

My initial thought was that the last chapter before the epilogue was anti-climactic. It seemed to violate the rule of beginning, middle, end. But part of me thinks that was intentional. Perhaps it had to do with the follow-up book A Girl's Guide to Moving On, but I think it was even more than that. Before I turned the page to that chapter, I had almost expected the previous chapter to be the ending.

Throughout this book, I was impressed that it was more than one thing. It was definitely more than a romance. It was also more than family reconciliation. It was more than the story of abuse. If it is anything, it is Life. Other than the big picture that often exceeds 80 years, life isn't simply a beginning, middle and end. There are many beginnings and ends throughout anyone's life and even more so throughout an extended family's story.
Jay It was very rushed - it seemed like they had issues and then everything was resolved with one visit. While she spent a lot of time building the characters in the beginning it felt like she hurried to finish the book.
Mary Tufts A little--but if you made it into a "War and Peace" length it would be boring. I loved the sequel they linked at the end. It was just the kind of romance novel I like--character development, not steamy but slightly suggestive, and keeping things on an upbeat level.
Anna A bit, but then because their is a sequel perhaps she wanted it like that.?! Other thoughts...?
