Is Cindy Brown a pseudonym? Why do so many authors adopt a pseudonym? In your opinion what are the benefits in there use?

Nope, it's my real name, though I did consider adopting a pseudonym since there are so many Cindy Browns (including a famous basketball player and a Playboy bunny). I suspect authors who do use pen names may also have popular or well-known names. I might also use a different name if I published a book that was different in genre or tone from my humorous mysteries, just to avoid confusing readers.
