Is Nancy Cole Silverman a pseudonym? Why do so many authors adopt a pseudonym? In your opinion what are the benefits in there use?

No, that's my name...at least three of them. I started my radio career under the name Nancy Cole and years later met my husband, Bruce. Some people know me as Nancy Cole, others only as Brice's wife. Hence the two surnames. None of which are the name I was born with. Women are so mysterious.
