Absolutely. Whether you are ultimately able to run again or not, McDougall brilliantly captures the simple ecstasy that is distance running...

Even if we can only look back upon our injury-free youth, the book is a celebration of that experience--being able to roll out of bed, throw on a pair of shoes, and burst out the door into ebullience.

I can only echo the others below: Born to Run is a love letter to running, wrapped in a fantastic, journalistic narrative. Inspirational?
