I am currently reading "Bewildered in Florida" and it is bringing back some memories as I went to college in St. Pete. I was wondering...by any chance, was the resort in the book inspired by real St. Pete Beach resort? Your excellent descriptions of the beach scenes, cabanas, the resort's restaurants, etc. have me picturing the "Pink Palace" aka the Don Cesar. 😎

The resort in the book was inspired by bits and pieces of different resorts along St. Pete Beach. I travel there every September for a writer's conference that is held at the Tradewinds and Rumfish Resorts, but over the years I've taken some time to pop into some of the other resorts just to take a look around or grab a meal. I have yet the visit Don Cesar, though. I'm going to have to make it a priority this year - I've seen it from the beach many times. It looks lovely!

I recently read "Aunt Bessie Decides". At one point, you give a brief synopsis of a book Bessie is about to read: "the lady in question was the widow of an enterprising criminal who had left his lovely wife with a notebook full of contacts for whatever emergencies might arise." What book is this referring to?
