Goodreads asked Clive Austin:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Clive Austin I am always writing more than one thing at a time, or in the case of my series "Swingers of west London" there are 2 very different story lines (albeit both based within a swing dance class) within the same book.
One story is comedic and the other is gripping, intense and comparitively serious.

The trick is then not to consider that I have writer's block but that I simply may not be in the mood to write comedy, in which case I focus on the dramatic side (and vice versa)

This then means that the story line can continue to steadily develop, irrespective of what mood I am in, as I can focus on either storyline dependant on my current frame of mind.
