Goodreads asked Suza Kates:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Suza Kates In hindsight, I completely understand why people always said to just keep writing, every day. It's like a muscle you want to keep in shape. After a long spell of not writing very much, I found it more difficult to resume. So even when blocked, keep writing something, anything, to keep your skills up.

I'd also tell new writers to know their personality type. How fast you write the first draft, how much you perfect it the first time, whether you plot or pants your way through are just a few of the things your personality type will decide for you. In a nutshell, do what works best for you.
