Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Ryan R. Reilly Honestly, I was skipping out on job responsibilities a few years ago, going for a long walk under the guise of "passing out flyers". While on this walk, I was thinking that about various comedy shorts, skits, and films I liked, and wanted to write an absurd comedy. That's not at all what happened, but the original idea of a shipless pirate causing mayhem for a wicked noble remained the crux of the story. A DEEP DARK PIT OF DESPAIR lost the absurdity but kept the heart, and I think it's better for it.
