A couple things actually! First, I'm trying to finish a cartoon based on DEEP DARK PIT so that I can really rededicate myself to the sequel! I'm also polishing an epic fantasy novel I finished several years ago, as well as a zombie/vampire novel based in Chicago. What some of you may not know is that I'm also a personal trainer, and I've been hammering out ideas for a fitness guide aimed at my fellow nerds and geeks.

There's no simple answer for that one. Sometimes it's just a nagging idea that needs to get out, sometimes it's a conversation with a friend, and sometimes I just want to dip my toes in new waters (I've been working on a zombie/vampire book for a few years that should finally be complete when both of the trains have left the station!)

Honestly, I was skipping out on job responsibilities a few years ago, going for a long walk under the guise of "passing out flyers". While on this walk, I was thinking that about various comedy shorts, skits, and films I liked, and wanted to write an absurd comedy. That's not at all what happened, but the original idea of a shipless pirate causing mayhem for a wicked noble remained the crux of the story. A DEEP DARK PIT OF DESPAIR lost the absurdity but kept the heart, and I think it's better for it.
