Yuk. Typical of Syfy, sex, violence and drama emphasized (and manufactured). The casting feels wrong, particularly for Miller and Holden. I've read the first two books, but I'm finding the show difficult to follow and downright boring. I know that bringing a book into a tv/movie medium requires changes, and I'm okay with that as long as the adaption is true to the spirit of the novel (s). In this case, it seems that Syfy is already violating that for me. I agree with Bovaz below that the Rocinante crew have camaraderie and should be more like the Serenity crew, but The Expanse has them fighting amongst each other, ignoring distress signals (which they didn't do in the book) and basically they come off as jerks. The introduction of Avasarala of the UN (from the second book) as some kind of CIA torturer is extremely disappointing to me. I'm not going to watch any more of the show because the books are much, much superior plus there's a lot of better shows to watch (not on Syfy).(less)
