The young reader's edition is stripped of a lot of the history that gives the book its context. I began the young reader version, not realizing that it was, and decided I wanted to see what the full version had. Full is better, but her description of being shot could be disturbing, and the history could be boring, to younger/less mature readers.

The second option is for higher level grades with higher comprehension. On the other hand, the first option is for middle school kids and less violent situations and easier comp. and vocab. .
