Hi Lois, I was curious as to wether you have ever been approached about writing any Star Wars novels? Would that be something you would be interested in? I often wondered how the process would work, would you be given a storyline and go with that, obviously sticking to certain histories within the canon. Apologies if you have been asked this many times which i suspect you have. Thank you for your time.

Not Star Wars. I was approached once for Star Trek novels, long ago, but for me that starship had sailed. They should have asked me in 1968... :-)
I believe all the big franchises have some sort of story bibles these days. (In the early days, when all this was first being invented, things were more free-form.) But it's not something I'm interested in -- I want to write my own stories -- so I've never investigated further.
My friend Pat Wrede was approached through her agent and contracted to write the middle-school novelizations of the last 3 Star Wars movies, back when. But she was under legal obligation not to talk about it, at the time. But those were a lot more constrained than the side novels, as she was working from "live" scripts (some of them still wriggling.)

2 Qs for 2 series - 1 - Can Sara have children now, post-curse? Her potential for a Paladin/GJRQ style post-denouement adult adventure, maybe involving children with her second, lower-ranked love interest has been occurring to me lately for some reason so thought I'd ask. The "Mother" book? :) 2 - What was the reason behind making Cordelia, scientific character as she is, a religious believer? Thank you!

I am currently reading Edward James's very interesting book about you in the "Modern Masters of Science Fiction" series. While he is a big fan of your writing, he sometimes interprets things differently than you do. So how does *"The Writer" feel about being written about?
