What do you think about the parallels between the way the paris terrorist attacks were dealt with and Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits? I speak more of the aftermath, like how they arrested the terrorists and how social networks hold a major role now in that kind of events. (1)

There have actually been a few events like that since the book was written (a few months ago a guy live-streamed his shooting of a reporter and her cameraman, capturing it in a first-person view from behind his gun, like a video game). I never like to call out those parallels because it makes it sound like I'm patting myself on the back or being glib about it ("This mass murder proves me right AGAIN! Buy my book!") and the truth is these trends are pretty obvious and in-your-face. Good sci-fi should always really be about the present, not the future.

I wanted to write to say I adore all your books and the movie. They act as a warm blanket against my soul-quivering anxiety, and I have recently purchased the audio-book of JDATE and TBIFOS, because it allows me to drive without crying, which I've heard is generally good for not dying in a spectacular car crash. I have followed you through your whole literary journey (at least that I know of), since the 2007 paperback release of JDATE (love the acronym). I watched you evolve as an writer from having a rough "punk edge" to being more polished and skilled, to being more mature and polished but having that edge back, at least from my experience. How did you experience that Journey?
