Are there any plans for This Book Is Full of Spiders or What The Hell Did I Just Read to be turned into films?
David Wong
It depends on what you mean by "plans." There are multiple steps - someone has to own the film/TV rights (they do), they have to want to make it (they do), they have to get someone else to put up millions of dollars to make it and sell it to an outlet (not yet, and most properties never make it to this stage). I personally believe some version of it will happen at some point, but I also have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm not in the industry at all, I write books and essays from home, in the midwest. It's not like I'm typing this from Channing Tatum's hot tub, trying to talk him into playing Dave.

This isn't a question but I died and was revived in 2011 and spent a week in a coma afterwards. Upon reawakening a friend gave me John Dies At The End. I read it while recovering in the hospital, pondering what everything meant. That book really helped me get through a really weird, dark, confusing time in my life. It was as trippy as I wanted and and funny as I needed. I just wanted to say thanks for that book?

Just curious... how long was it from the time you came up with the idea for WTHDIJR until the book was actually released? Some authors like Stephen King pump them out pretty quickly while others like George R. R. Martin take considerably longer (both are brilliant... I'm not cutting anyone down with that comment :)) The book is brilliant, by the way!

Yo, so I was wondering how you research for the books you're writing? Does it come from already existing knowledge or do you research as you go along? Wew. Also, JDatE was seriously life changing. I don't know what it is about it but it changed my perspective on a lot of things. I use brute force to get everyone I meet (including my mum) to read it and when they do, they love it just as much (also including my mum) <3
