Hello Dianna you most likey dont remember my but i was in your 5th grade english class and you asked me and two other kids to look over an early copy of the inquizitors mark i am happy for your success but my question is this when did you relalize that you wanted to turn this idea into a book ? Anyways thank you and good luck , J.V.

Dianne K. Salerni Are you kidding? OF COURSE I remember you! In fact, on the Acknowledgments page of The Inquisitor's Mark, there is a mention of you reading my early draft. :) To answer your question, my idea for this book came after HarperCollins bought The Eighth Day and asked me to write more books in the series. There were two things that made this story come together for me. First, an editor said to me, "I wish we could find out more about Jax's father." Secondly, there was Jax's tattoo. It was supposed to have a falcon on it, but when my daughter designed a family crest for Jax in Photoshop, she put a bald eagle on it instead. This change in the design bothered me at first, but suddenly I saw how it could be significant to the story. That's how I got the idea -- and the title of the book! I hope all is well for you and your family. ~ Dianne
