Can THE EIGHTH DAY be read as a stand-alone or does the book end on a cliffhanger?

The Eighth Day can be read as a stand-alone. While it is clear in the end that the characters will have more adventures together, the ending is not a cliffhanger. The immediate conflicts in the book are resolved. (Kind of like, you could read the first Harry Potter and stop there, if you wanted.)

Hi! I just read your books The Eight Day and The Inquisitor's Mark! They are both really good! I liked the setting and the idea of an eight day itself, and you did a good job in with the Merlin/Arthurian legend. I was not familiar about their story, and I liked your version! Great male characters, too, Riley is officially my favorite male character now. May I know how many books are you planning for this series?
