Is it worth reading this novel if I hated the Carry On fanfiction parts in Fangirl? Are the format, tone, setting, language etc all the same as the excerpts written by Cath in Fangirl?

Like Leah said though, it is a bit slow up until "book" 2, but it's slow in the same way Harry Potter starts off(less)
