Yes, Judy Moody is at a higher reading level than Junie B. Jones, even though they are both hilarious fun books to read and i would give both these series five stars.
1. According to www.judymoody.com Judy Moody is for grades 2-4, and according to kidsbookseries.com Junie B. Jones is for ages 5 to 9, and this is kindergarten to 3rd grade.
2. Most Judy Moody books have over 110 pages and Junie B. Jones has around 80 to 90 pages and rarely exceeds 100.
3. Judy Moody talks about more complex things that have to do with how the world works (yet still at a third grade level) a littl peak into the bigger picture of society such as money and fame and leadership. Each book is about a larger topic.
4. As a character Judy Moody is older in her story than Junie B. Jones. So for younger readers it will be harder to connect to Judy Moody than it is to Junie B. Jones.
5. (This is in my point of view) Most Junie B Jones books have a small setting which is from school to Junie's house (other than the last few books) while Judy's is more varied and though it is also from school to house it is more detailed and slightly more complex.
6. (Also in my point of view) The different plot lines between the two books also indicate who is higher, in Junie B. Jones there is one main problem for the story and the whole book is centred on this, with a large solution at the end and the obstacles in between are not as twisted or complex like Judy Moody's.
