I bought your signed limited edition JDATE from Cemetery Dance and I was wondering if there is going to be a similar edition for TBIFOS? I'd love to 'complete the set.' I collect signed books and my lettered JDATE is one of my absolute favorites. On a related note, I love your books! They are unique on so many levels. Your perspective and voice as a writer are a breath of fresh air in the horror/sci-fi genre. TY!

I haven't heard from them about a Spiders special edition but I think the JDATE one sold out the moment it was announced, seems like it did pretty well for them. But it's not like my decision or anything, they're a separate publisher and it's a deal they have to work out with the original publisher, it all happens behind the scenes. The JDATE one was in the works for years.

So I'm turning 28 soon (always thought I'd die before I got old, not that 28 is OLD, but my youth has been all but spent) & I'm an aspiring author who's filled journals with bits & pieces of different novels that I grew to hate & left fallow. My problem, I think, is the organic pairing of a message & story. I'm all mismatched socks & wisdom's not coming with age for me. Do you have any you could spare on the subject?

What are your tips for getting characters out of tough spots without it seeming like bullshit? Any time I read your stuff I go "damn there really is no way for them to get out of this" and when they do, I never think "oh, come on." Do you come up with the solution first, then create a problem?
