Emma Gillis asked Katie McGarry:

Hi Katie! I'm a huge fan of all you're books! I love the characters and stories but what I'd really love to know is how it felt sitting down to write your first book? We're you daunted by the blank page or did the characters seem to write themselves? Thanks!

Katie McGarry Hi Emma,

Yes, there are times I am very daunted by a blank page.

I wasn't as overwhelmed when I wrote my first story because I was just doing it for fun, but truth be told, that story was a train wreck. I had so much to learn about the craft of writing and storytelling.

When I first sat down to write Pushing the Limits, I was very overwhelmed. I had studied writing and storytelling and I wasn't sure I could put everything I had learned together to form a story. I fought past the fear and wrote Echo and Noah's story. I'm very glad I did because I love how they turned out.

Thank you,

Katie
