I love the period between the wars best, the 20's and 30's. As I describe in The Paris Wife, "The world had ended once and could again at any moment"...and it was this intensity of experience, and a tipping over of everything that had once been known and thought safe, that interests me most. How it challenges some to live to the edges of themselves.

It is all so new yet so familiar. It felt like I've been good friends with Hem and Hadley and that somehow our lives have crossed. It is poignant and raw.
