How do you get inspired to write?

Louise Allen I wish I knew how I get inspiration then I could bottle it which would be a real help on days when inspiration is in very short supply. Ideas seem to come from nowhere - suddenly a character, a place or even a snatch of dialogue is there. Sometimes I can see a link to a story idea in something I have seen or read, but usually things must go into my subconscious and pop up again when they are nicely matured.
