Hi Cornelia, I'm a big fan of your books (duh, who wouldn't be?) and also an aspiring writer/author. You writing is absolutely beautiful and has changed how I look at writing as a work of art. I was wondering if you had any tips for teens who want to be writers/authors and what inspired you to become an author?

I was a very bored illustrator, Koral, who was so frustrated with the stories she got from publishers that finally she sat down to write her own stories one night - at the advanced age of 28:))
But as you start so much earlier - always have a notebook with you (I prefer the big A4 size) use visual material for inspiration - drawings, photos, illustrations - feed your stories with the richness and reality of this world. Be endlessly curious about inside and outside. and then.....write:)

Ich wollte erstmal sagen, dass ich deine Bücher liebe. Die Tintenherz Trilogie und die Reckless Bücher gehören zu meinen absoluten Favoriten, welche ich auch gerne öfter lese. Meine Frage war jetzt, ob du schon Ideen für kommende Bücher hast ? Und, ob es generell lange dauert sich die ganzen Details an den Geschichten einzelner Personen auszudenken ? Liebe Grüße Berit :)

Hi Cornelia. First, I love your books! They've inspired me so much, so thank you. Onto the question. When I learned Inkheart was originally written in German, I was amazed. The language, the voice is so beautiful, and sometimes that beauty is lost in translation. I assume your translator is phenomenal, but I'm also curious, did you have a hand in the process? Thanks!
