Goodreads asked Tiffany FitzHenry:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Tiffany FitzHenry The writing! That's the best thing. Going to 'the place' where stories live, being there and bringing the character's stories onto the page. That's it. Having just endless hours everyday is kind of the dream. When I was young I'd write and write and write for days and weeks with little sleep, and no mind to things like food and the outside world. That's a sort of strange paradise for my soul. But balance is important. These day, if I get 5-6 hours a day I'm grateful. In my life now I can manage a great deal of starting and stopping, almost a ridiculous amount. With kids and a family and a house to manage, I've learned to turn it on and off like a faucet. Write through chaos, hordes of kids running about, boiling pots, it doesn't bother me. In fact having things like an active dog who needs a good long walk and a big garden that needs tending is all very healthy for me. Though it's a struggle to give my focus and attention to each of these things a bit each day, I know it's good for me as a writer to have a life 'off the page' as well.
