One of the things I love about your work is your ability to combine genres - fantasy, historical fiction, romance, and now even mystery - into a single book. Was this something you set out to do deliberately, especially with Blackthorn & Grim,or did it come organically through developing the story?

What a great question, Jenel! Mostly it's an organic thing that just happens when I write - certainly that's the case with the blend of history, fantasy and romance. I don't think about genres much when writing, I just tell that particular story in what feels like the most appropriate way. But I did make a deliberate decision to include the mystery element in the Blackthorn & Grim series, partly because I love reading mystery series that feature the same puzzle-solving protagonists (eg Kerry Greenwood's Phryne Fisher series and Robert Galbraith's Cormoran Strike mysteries) and wanted to attempt something similar while keeping the uncanny element.

Hi Juliet I’m so surprised how no one yet made a good series of your books? I just finished the sevenwaters series books and is so good history. I also live in Ireland for the past 2 years so I actually went to some places that you mentioned in the books. I would love to see this in the big screen.
