What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Jean Davis Write a lot. Then edit. Then find a critique group, either in person or online. Then write a lot more. Once you've done that, submit your work. Understand that all writing is very subjective and you may have to do a good deal of searching to find the right place for your work. Expect rejection and be pleasantly surprised when an acceptance comes in, that way you'll keep disappointment to a minimum.
