I saw mentioning under some comments on your Facebook page that we'd see a lot of Kiernan in the Simon Stories. So...any chance you can explain what you mean by the Simon Stories? :) Loved all the books and novellas, always sad when you finish a series and say goodbye to such well written characters.

Argh! I wish that I got an email notifcation when questions like this are posted!! Apologies for the delay!
Anyway...the first of the "Simon stories" debuted last week. "Simon Says" Tips for the Intrepid Time Traveler" is a novella from Simon's point of view that gives us a glimpse of his early history and friendship with Kiernan. A second story, "Whack Job," will be published as part of an anthology "Alt. History 102" which should be out in a few months, and then I'll eventually publish it as a standalone short. The third (and, most likely, final) Simon story, "Cincinnati Blues," still hasn't been written. I hope to get it written in late spring, after I finish the first draft of Book 1 in my next series, The Delphi Project.

Did you put together and test your science backed mechanisms and operations of time before you started writing or did they evolve around them? As a reader, I feel cheated when you can tell an author has just patched a science or magic model together (Harry Potter comes to mind). As a writer, I must have spent as much time on my universe as I have on my novels. I am particularly interested as the Delphi Project evolves
