What are the steps to writing a fast-paced, adrenaline-rushing story like the Insignia series?

S.J. Kincaid Thank you so much, Michael! I'm glad it was fast-paced for you. I think the key is just to make sure every one of your scenes serves a purpose, and check your story for redundancies. You really only need to make a point/ convey information once and then trust the reader to take it from there. In that way, I try to cut down any extra padding.
