I recently read "A Distant Melody," and there is a character named Earl Butterfield. Shortly after, I was flipping through "Love Stories of World War II," compiled by Larry King, and there is a story of a Lt. Earl Butterfield who worked with B-29s. Was your character based on him, or is it pure coincidence?

Sarah Sundin Oh, how funny! And I did read that book before writing "A Distant Melody"! But no, it's pure coincidence. I picked "Earl" because it's a good period name, and I chose "Butterfield" because it's a name way back in my family tree (1700s or so)!

I just finished two of your books this weekend and loved them so much! I was wondering if you might have any words of wisdom for an aspiring writer? I've been writing short stories and such for a frew years and I'm trying to work through a rough draft of a novel length story.
