Jon
Jon asked E. Lockhart:

Did you know how We Were Liars would end from the start?

E. Lockhart Yes. In We Were Liars it was a question of what the beginning was, not the end.

Elizabeth
Elizabeth asked E. Lockhart:

What advice can you give someone who keeps getting rejected by literary agents? What should they do? Any writing advice to give?

Seasielle ...
Seasielle ... asked E. Lockhart:

Hello! I'm very curious about your writing career. How did you become a writer? Did you plan it from the start? Or you're born to be a writer? I mean, is it your passion? Another one, why did you choose We Were Liars as a title? Finally, what's the biggest lie you ever told someone? Thank you. By the way, hello from the Philippines.

Janice
Janice asked E. Lockhart:

I just completed WE WERE LIARS (like everyone else in the world) and was very struck and moved by it. Like the waters were calm until they suddenly weren't anymore. Can you talk a little about your inspiration not only for this, but what drove you to write a book like it? The style is so unique, the chapter lengths, and everything about it is very different and refreshing.
