My inspiration for Sun Kissed came from two main sources: My enthusiasm and love for dolphins and Peter Pan. For as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed learning about dolphins. When I discovered the Amazon legend of the dolphin shapeshiftes known as Encantados, I knew that it would be the perfect platform for a story one day.
At the age of fifteen, I read J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan for the first time. I was so moved by this tale that I sought to write a modern interpretation. So I combined the legend of the dolphin shapeshifters with elements of Peter Pan. Thus Sun Kissed was born!
