What usually comes to you first? The character(s), the story idea, a title, a scene?

Usha Narayanan Thank you for the lovely question, Devika. The characters and the story idea come to me first. Once I feel there is enough substance, I begin visualizing the scenes, for my strength is in 'seeing' the heroes and heroines, the locations, the lily ponds and the gentle swans - and then capturing them in words for my perceptive readers!
