Sherrilyn Kenyon No, you're not and yes they do have one. It's just normally a dark one. They're conceived in violence to do violence and end violently. Nick's comes from the fact that he is the only one whose mother didn't hate him. She embraced him and raised him with love. As did Menyara. He's the only Malachai who has ever known a loving home. His soul is as dark as any ever born and he has the darkness compounded because he has the power and memories of all who've come before him. But because of those who've loved him, he makes the conscious choice to do right and to walk in the light. At least he has so far. But because it's not natural to him, it's very hard and the older he gets and the more his powers develop, the harder that fight becomes. It's why he has to have his anchor. Without an anchor to give him a reason to remain in the light, we're in trouble. Hugs!
