Your first name is Latvian. Pure Latvian. Which of your parents is Latvian and born where?

Ausma Zehanat Khan That's so interesting! No Latvian blood that I know of, it's just a strange and misleading spelling of the Arabic name "Usma". My family's roots historically go back to Afghanistan--either from Jalalabad or Kandahar, maybe both. But my parents were born in Shahjehanpur, India and consider themselves Pakistani-Canadians via Britain. Potted autobiography for you. Thanks for asking!
