How do you get inspired to write?

Bethany Turner Music. For me it's almost always music. Each story seems to have a type of music which fuels the dialogue and defines the characters a bit more clearly. The Abigail Phelps Series was Billy Joel (as anyone who has read it will know!) and the Christian romance I recently completed was a strange and wonderful mixture of Fleetwood Mac and Francesca Battistelli. Sometimes the role the music plays in bigger than others. For instance, Fleetwood and Francesca are under the surface, while Billy Joel was literally a supporting character in The Abigail Phelps Series!

Would you allow your teenagers to read your book and ones like it? I'm hesitant to let my girls read romance so that they don't set themselves up with unrealistic expectations.

I just randomly picked up "The Do Over" at the library and it takes place in Durham, NC! Where I was born!! What connection do you have to Durham? (P.S. Nc State is the best over UNC and Duke-haha!) Love reading about my hometown!
