Bethany Turner has been writing since the second grade, when she won her first writing award for explaining why, if she could have lunch with any person throughout history, she would choose John Stamos. She stands by this decision. Bethany now writes pop culture–infused rom-coms for a new generation of readers who crave fiction that tackles the thorny issues of life with humor and insight. She lives in Southwest Colorado with her husband, whom she met in the nineties in a chat room called Disco Inferno. As sketchy as it sounds, it worked out pretty well in this case, and they are now the proud parents of two teenagers. That really is like choosing your favorite child. Each novel is special to me in different ways for different reasons. Having said that...I’m pretty partial to Wooing Cadie McCaffrey. It was the first time I wrote from the perspectives of both the female and male leading characters. I had so much fun getting to know both Cadie and Will, and I loved sorting out their love story—as well as their faith story.(less)

And the answer is...no. But I was pretty proactive about that, because it has always been something in the back of my mind. I have been in personal contact back-and-forth with several of the real-life people who figure heavily in the series -- and several of them actually have copies of the books. That was important to me. I never wanted to be disrespectful, though I realize that in the minds of some, I could be walking a fine line.
Thank you so much for your question!(less)

A touching story of grief, love, and life carrying on, The Heart of Splendid Lake engaged my heart from the very first page. Sometimes the feelings we run from lead us to the hope we can’t escape, and that’s a beautiful thing to see through the eyes ...more

“I have memories, but I don’t know if they are really mine or if I’ve just seen so many pictures. I think that I remember riding on his sailboat with him, and playing under his desk in the Oval Office, but those images are everywhere, so do I really remember them or just imagine how it all happened?”
Bethany Turner, Scenes From Highland Falls

“Abigail, my love for you is forever, you know that. Your love for Sergei is forever. But my love for Jill is as well. I don’t know how it works, but I do believe the human heart is capable of much more than we give it credit for sometimes.”
Bethany Turner, Scenes From Highland Falls

“I was done. I had loved my allotment. John, Chris, and Sergei. Those three men were the only men I would ever be in love with. I don’t think that Chris or I could have imagined at that moment, however, that never falling in love with anyone besides those three didn’t mean I would never fall in love again.”
