Sometimes lines come to me fully formed. This was one of them. When I was writing that scene, I imagined Gabriel partially teasing Julia. But he respects her innocence and is honoured by her sharing it with him, of all people.
I think the Professor is the only person who could get away with saying the things he says …

Good Day Mr Reynard, I have been wondering if you knew you were going to write another series after Gabriel's Redemption, the way you introduced The Prince was absolutely brilliant.
