I make myself write. I find that writer's block, at least for myself, is usually caused by a lack of confidence in what I'm writing. When I feel stuck, I just keep going. I'll skip over the scene that I'm struggling with and start the next one or I'll work on something entirely different. I wrote the Vargas Deposition when I was struggling with revising the third act of Foreclosure. Having finished that story, I felt refreshed and had a better perspective on the novel.

I'm currently reading A Mighty Fortress... and imagine my surprise when I get to the part where Milo travels to Miami... and goes to Batch (a bar in the building I used to live in)... and then mentions the bartender with the thick beard... my friend Adam... first time that's ever happened! I assume you've spent time in Miami recently then, correct?
